TAX LAW NEWS: UK signs IGAs with Guernsey and Jersey

Following the Intergovernmental Agreement [IGA] entered into with the Isle of Man, United Kingdom has now concluded similar agreements with Guernsey and Jersey on 22nd October, 2013. The UK-Guernsey Agreement to Improve International Tax Compliance and the UK-Jersey Agreement to Improve International Tax Compliance provide for automatic tax information exchange agreements which objective is to improve tax compliance.

The United Kingdom has further IGAs in the pipeline with the British Overseas Territories, they being the Cayman Islands, the British Virgin Islands, Bermuda, Anguilla, Turks and Caicos Islands, Montserrat and Gibraltar.
